چکیده

Although the benefits of asphalt recycling have been scientifically proven and several best practices are being implemented, further research is required in specific specialized areas. One these circumstances Reclaimed Asphalt Pavements (RAPs) that contain modifiers such as elastomers and/or plastomers. Following principles circular economy considering sustainability implications mixtures, this paper deals with multi-recyclability mixtures containing 50% RAP without a recycled plastic modifier rejuvenating agent. The was made hard plastics introduced to mixture via dry method. focuses on characterization binders conventional, rheological, chemical analysis. To control consistency variables produced artificially laboratory following an ageing protocol for loose mixtures. According obtained results, at all three cycles binder recycling, comparable properties (i) extracted from plastic-modified mixture, (ii) un-modified (iii) reference bitumen 50/70 were obtained. This even noticed when nearly similar quantity rejuvenator needed during optimization process. Overall, it can be deduced binder-scale point view, additive could multiple life any degradation its mechanical physical properties.

A Study on the Rheological Properties of Recycled Rubber-Modified Asphalt Mixtures

Using waste rubber in asphalt mixes has become a common practice in road construction. This paper presents the results of a study on the rheological characteristics of rubber-modified asphalt (RMA) concrete under static and dynamic loading conditions. A number of static and dynamic creep tests were conducted on RMA mix specimens with different rubber sizes and contents, and a series of resonant...

Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of the cement treated Cold-in-Place Recycled Asphalt Mixtures

Cold-in-place recycling (CIR) is an environmentally sustainable alternative for preservation of asphalt pavements. A major disadvantage of this practice is the lower strength of the cold-in-place mixtures. Addition of cement into this type of mixture is a method for increasing its bearing capacity. The effect of cement content on the mechanical properties of the cold-in-place recycled asphalt m...

Characterization of Hot Bituminous-Asphalt Mixtures with Recycled Polyurethane Foam

Received: June 06, 2017 Revised: July 05, 2017 Accepted: July 19, 2017 Abstract: Introduction: The use of polymer wastes in pavement as road is an increasing trend in the road construction sector. Those new pavements reduce the amount of solid waste disposed into landfills and provide more sustainable construction due to the use of in-situ materials. Polyurethane foam waste is a thermostable po...

Modification of the Properties of Warm Mix Asphalt Using Recycled Plastic Bottles

Construction of flexible pavements with hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixtures consumes huge energy which impacts the resources and the environment of the world. Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is an effective alternative as they produced with lower mixing and compaction temperature than those used in HMA production. This technology decreases energy consumption, saves money, and reducing the environmental pollu...

Aging effects on recycled WMA porous asphalt mixtures

Nowadays, the use of reclaimed asphalt pavements (RAP) is often combined with Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) technologies with several benefits in terms of environment, cost and mechanical performance. Concerns still exist related to in-service and aging characteristics of warm recycled mixtures since WMA technologies have been developed over the last decade and hence long term performance data are not...
